Traveling

One major passion of mine is traveling, I still remeber the first time, I was eight, and me, my mother and my father packed the car and drove all around europe for 2 months.
I remember being so excited that i started writing a journal documenting all the cities and countries we visited, that is when my love for travel started.

I particularly remember going to Ireland, as a kid I thought it was the most beautiful country I had ever seen, what captured my attention the most were those cliffs, called Cliffs of Moher, here is a picture of them.





Since then i have travelled several times but only for two weeks at the time, that changed at age seventeen. That is when I sailed for two months on the black sea. It was a small crew ship called Doulos which carried 150 people, and each and every one of them worked in different departments on board the ship. It was mostly a floating book shop, it's purpose was to dock in major ports around the world and sell christian literature and music to the public. My role was that of an assistant cook, it was one of the best experiences of my life, one that I will never forget.
I visited three countries while on board the ship, Romania, Ukraine and Turkey. The country that made the most impact on me was Turkey, probably due to the fact that it was so completely different from anything I had seen before
The culture, the hospitality, the food, the weather, the music, everything about it fascinated me.

I am planning to go traveling for 8 months in fours years time, there are a few places I would like to visit, these are Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Malaysia, South America and Africa. Hopefully I will be able to same enough money to be able to fulfill this desire, but only time will tell.
